The Motoring Hood is the perfect vintage meets modern accessory, with its flattering hood and attached scarf for extra warmth. Style with your winter coat or layer with a knitted cardigan or sweater. This quintessential vintage pixie hood is knitted flat in two separate pieces; the hood knitted in one piece with shaping added at the centre back for a more comfortable fit, and also the separate scarf. Both are knitted in 1x1 rib stitch. Full instructions are provided in the pattern to complete the hood.
Our yarn kit includes all the hand-dyed yarn you need to knit this cosy, stylish and practical hood. The Motoring Hood is knitted in our Excelana North fingering weight yarn, 100% British wool, spun from wool sourced from Northern England and the Scottish Borders and spun at a nearby Yorkshire mill. This fingering weight (4 Ply) yarn is soft to the touch and with plenty of warmth to keep you snug in your Motoring Hood.
The kit includes three 50g skeins of Excelana North supplied in a Susan Crawford Vintage project bag: We have used Persian Grey for our sample, a deep grey shade. However, if you would prefer to choose your own colourway, select one of the wonderful shades of Excelana from the drop down menu. To make your choice, you can see all the Excelana shades here.
