The Sun-Ray Ribbing sweater is an incredibly elegant yet easy-to-wear sweater incorporating a simple all-over ribbed design. Dressed up or dressed down, this sweater fits perfectly into vintage and non-vintage wardrobes alike and is a great introduction to sweater knitting for someone wanting to build their knitting skills.
Sun-Ray Ribbing is knitted in separate pieces, which are each knitted from the bottom up. The vertically diminishing ribbing cleverly brings the pattern inward, creating a sun-ray effect. The raglan shaping creates a well-fitting neckline whilst continuing the rib pattern. The raglan sections of the sleeves and body pieces are joined together, then a circular needle is used to knit the neckband, creating the fiery tips of the rays encircling the collar bone and drawing the eye upwards.
Sun-Ray Ribbing is knitted using [link: Susan Crawford Excelana North, fingering weight = /collections/excelana-4-ply :link] a soft, fingering weight 100% British wool, spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her team.

The kit comes in three sizes to fit from 71-132 cm (28-52 in) chest as follows:
Kit Size One to fit 1st and 2nd pattern sizes: To fit 71 to 92cm (28-36 in) chest includes 4 X 50g skeins of Exceland North hand-dyed in your chosen colour.
Kit Size Two to fit 3rd pattern sizes: To fit 97 to 102cm (38-40in) chest includes 5 X 50g skeins of of Exceland North hand-dyed in your chosen colour.
Kit Size Three to fit 4th and 5th pattern sizes: To fit 107 to 132cm (42-52in) chest includes 6 X 50g skeins of Exceland North hand-dyed in your chosen colour.
