Pattern - The Pinafore Jumper

[tabblock]
[tab1: This elegant sweater pattern first published in the mid 1930's features an interesting checkerboard cable pattern with cables running both vertically up the sweater and also across the sweater with squares of moss stitch contained within. The sweater can be worn high on the waist as shown in our modern photos or knitted longer as shown on the original vintage pattern. A belt can even be added for extra vintage glamour! The sweater also has an unusual scooped neckline with a ribbed collar added for extra style. The Pinafore Jumper is knitted flat in separate pieces which are then sewn together. The long sleeves make this a great all-weather piece. We have also added charted instructions o assist in the knitting process.

The Pinafore Jumper is knitted using [link: Susan Crawford Excelana North, fingering weight = /collections/excelana-4-ply :link] a soft, a soft, 100% British wool which shows texture and cables off to great effect. We have used shade [productlink: Agapanthus = agapanthus :productlink], hand-dyed in-house by Susan and her team, but think this sweater would look fabulous in any one of the 30 shades available!

Our model Theodora is shown wearing the second size to fit 76cm (30in) chest.

The pattern includes instructions for seven sizes to fit chest measurements between 71cm (28in) and 117cm (46in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with optional charted instructions for the cable pattern; plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart. :tab1]
